My name is Collin O’Neill. I have been playing water polo with the North San Diego Stars since I was 8 years old. I am also currency a starter on Varsity at Vista High School. One recent award I received is being named the most improved player at Vista High School. There is a video posted on my site, of my coach describing me at the award dinner that made me really proud.
I have always been a really hard worker and when I was younger I always seemed to be the smallest player on the team. That’s changed over the past couple years. My Dad who played in college, always told me if you can be an asset to your team and complete when you are smaller in stature, if you happen to hit a growth spurt later you will have an advantage. I really enjoy defense as much as offence. I get just as much joy stopping a goal, covering center back as I do scoring.
When I was younger I never thought I may be able to be able to play in College but now I’m really looking forward to it. When I asked my coach, “Dave Spence”, if he thought I could play in college he replied, “Absolutely!”. Thank you for your consideration.
