Hello, My Name is Temesgene. At the beginning of my sophomore year, one of my friends encouraged me to join the water polo team after the swimming season ended. This started my love of the sport, which caused me to join a water polo club (Orlando Thunder), and started my aspirations and goal to play this sport in college.
My dedication to this sport lasts longer than the practices as during my free time I go to the gym or the community pool to start training for water polo. After I injured myself sophomore year during practice making my season stop early I still was an active member of the team, going to every game, and practice to support my team even if I couldn't do it in the pool.
But my dedication to the sport didn't hamper my academics or extracurricular activity, as with debate I was able to win the FCDI championship and was ranked top 10 for world schools in the state of Florida, and in robotics, my team (550J) was placed in 23 in its region. While in my academics I have taken 8 AP classes and around 20+ Honor Classes in my school, with an additional 9 college classes taken in my local community college helping maintain a 5.2 out of 6.0 weighted GPA for the 2023 Fall Semester.
I believe I am an amazing candidate for your college water polo team. Because of my dedication and commitment to both water polo and my academics. And I hope to join your school in the Future.
