My name is Cale Coleman. I started playing water polo when I was 11 years old in Northern California, and have also been swimming competitively since I was 5 years old. I was born in Newport Beach, and grew up in the East Bay Area. I started playing water polo after the father of a friend on my swim team started begging me to come play water polo. At first, I didn't have much interest, and just kind of brushed it off. Then, once he had asked so many times, I finally caved in. That was the best decision I have ever made. I went to my first practice with 680 Water Polo Club, and fell in love with the sport. In 2020 my team and I moved to Diablo Alliance due to limited pool space. In 2021, my family and I moved across the country to a small town called Milton, Georgia. That summer, I played in the ODP Pipeline with the Southeast zone, and made it to the NTSC camp and went on to be selected for the 2021 Men's Development National Team. Ever since that experience, it really opened my eyes to how it doesn't matter where you play the game, but how you grow within the game. Since our move to Georgia, I realized how drastic the difference from CA water polo to GA water polo really is. So, I have been doing my best to make Georgia Water Polo the best it truly can be by recruiting swim friends, and being a part of a recruitment table at major events around the Atlanta area.
My Goal is to play at a Division I or Division II school to play water polo so that I can prove to my peers in Georgia that they do not have to live in California or Florida to have a chance at making it to the next level. I am a good candidate for your team because I do not look at the game of water polo as a chance to make me shine, as it is a team sport. If we win, we win as a team. If we lose, we lose as a team. I do not believe in pointing fingers or blaming anyone for a loss/win. No matter what the statistics are, we all played an equal role in winning/losing. I also understand that the classroom is just as important as in the water. I take my grades and education very seriously, and will always put them before anything else.
