I stated playing water polo when I was 10 years old. I knew water polo was my sport after my first day of practice, and I have been passionate about it since. I have also been a starting player for my high school Varsity water polo team since my freshman year. As a sophomore, I was selected to the Gateway West All Conference 2nd Team, and I was the only Junior in my division to be selected to the All Conference 1st Team. I led my team with 57 goals and I received the MVP award. I am currently the Captain of my team.
In addition, I have been a Varsity swimmer for 4 years, and I have qualified to compete at the MSHSAA State HS Swimming and Diving Championships for 4 years as well. This year and last year I was honored as the MVP, and this year I was also chosen as Captain of my swim team. My best times are 50 Free: 21.85, 100 Free: 47.77 and 200 Free: 1:50.
I want to continue playing water polo at the collegiate level because I love it, and I really appreciate the camaraderie and competition that goes along with being part of a team. I feel I am an excellent candidate, because I am a dedicated student with a 3.8 GPA. Plus, in addition to my drive and determination, I have speed, endurance and years of experience that have helped me to develop strong skills and an intimate knowledge of the game. Water polo is my passion, and I feel confident I can compete and succeed at the college level.
