My hope for college is to be able to strike a good balance between a challenging education and competitive water polo. To me, that means a school where I am pushed forward and given opportunities to go deeper into my major, especially in the form of research opportunities. Right now, I want to study Biomedical Engineering. I'm very interested in genetics, biology, and medical careers, so biomedical engineering is the challenging route for my interests. An incredibly important part of my college experience is water polo as well. I've been playing water polo since I was in fifth grade, and I haven't stopped loving it. I want the ability and support to push myself to a competitive level and have even more fun with water polo.
I'm a confident player, with experience across the board, including goalie time in middle school, utility, point, and 2-meter defender in high school, and 2-meter offense in club water polo. I've put a lot of time into game knowledge and developing skills to use that knowledge. In and out of the pool, I am a determined player. I work hard continuously to provide results that I know are the best I can deliver. I'm also a strong student. I will have taken 14 AP classes by the end of high school out of the 16 that my community high school offers. Of the nine AP tests I've taken, I've scored 5's on all 9. Finally, I have currently a 1510 SAT and 1450 PSAT, although I've just recently taken the SAT again on Oct. 1, hoping for a better score. My academic efforts have been awarded a Letter of Commendation for my PSAT, a finalist spot on the First Robotics Competition Deans List, and the opportunity to compete for two years in a row at the National Speech and Debate Nationals Competition. Ultimately, I'm hoping that I can make as much of a difference for your team as water polo makes in my life.
