My name is Abigail McCormack and I am a 4.0 student, as well as a three-sport high school athlete, and a year-round soccer player. I am currently entering my Junior year as a starter for the HRVHS Girls soccer team. Freshman year, I was placed on JV2, but one of my closest friends made the Varsity team. This challenged me to persevere, and continue to support my friend as she thrived on the varsity team. This opened many opportunities for me as a player and as a person. I made many new friends that were on my JV2 team, and it helped me become the leader that I am today.
One of my biggest goals for high school is to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. Currently, as a junior, I have maintained my 4.0 GPA while exerting my academic and athletic life. I have always pushed myself to become the best I can be. Since 8th grade, I have been in the high placement classes, such as Honors Zero Period Math (8th grade) all the way to AP Calculus AB (11th grade). English is the same for me; I began with “We Love to Read” in 6th grade to AP Literature in my junior year. My success throughout my academics is due to my supportive parents, and my perseverance. In college, I hope to study Physical Therapy (minors and majors within this field) but I’m not sure what I want to minor in.
Soccer has always been a big part of my life. I was very competitive as a little kid, which went hand in hand with soccer. I started soccer when I was 4 years old, and have continued to play it ever since. Throughout the years, I have learned so much about myself both in and out of soccer. I have found a hidden leader within me, and have become more confident. I was able to use my leadership skills freshman year, as one of the JV2 captains. Another skill that I possess is organization. My successful academic life is due to my ability to manage my time well and by staying organized.
