My name is Isabella Walker, but I prefer to go by Bella. I am in the graduating class of 2020 at Kate Duncan Smith DAR High School in Grant, AL. My college aspirations are to first pursue my undergraduate in Pre-Medicine with a minor in Spanish followed by a post graduate degree in medicine specializing in Orthopedics. My current high school varsity athletic experience includes: three years of volleyball, two years of basketball, and four years of softball. I also play softball during the fall and summer on a travel team, Southern Elite. My academic transcript reflects AP classes such as algebra, biology, chemistry, statistics, Spanish, and dual enrollment in English, History, Biology 103, Medical Terminology and Medical Law and Ethics. I am also involved in numerous clubs affiliated with my high school including: National Honors Society, Historical Society, Spanish Club, LEO Club, Future Business Leaders of America, and Art Club. My junior year I was honored to be selected as a Marshall County Youth Leadership (MCYL) representative because of my strong leadership tendencies. The knowledge I gained at MCYL events helped me expand my leadership capabilities, having a direct impact not only on my ability to effectively lead my team on the softball field but also create unity and confidence within my team. In addition to my commitment to academics and athletics, I enjoy being and active member in my churches youth group and volunteering in my community. Being an athlete has been a fundamental part of my life in and out of school, however my love for softball has always made it stand apart. Softball has taught me not only pride in winning but humility and compassion with loss, to lead my team tirelessly and persevere when the odds are against us, to always aspire and challenge myself and team to achieve higher goals. I know without a doubt I would not be the motivated person I am today without softball and I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to continue playing at the next level.
