Going to state my freshman year after being the underdogs all season is by far the highlight of my high school softball career. My sophomore year, I wasn’t a starter, but then a player got hurt and I was needed to step up and be a leader. I knew I was needed to “show up and show out” as my dad always said to earn my position. We did not make it to state, but I didn’t regress from the person I was the year before when we did- it made me stronger in my pursuit. I grew more as a person because I know this sport is a game of failure and I used my “failures” as lessons learned and to this day work hard every time I get the chance. Now as a junior all of my skills, effort and mindset are prepared for both failure and success. I am a multi sport athlete where I grow as an athlete in all different situations. I am versatile and willing to always do what is needed of me.
