Personal Statement

My name is Alyssa Opgenorth, and I am a pitcher from Beaumont, Alberta, Canada. Currently, I am attending Connors State College and will be graduating in 2024 with an associate degree in Biological Sciences, focusing on Pre-Med. I am proud to say that I have maintained a 3.90 GPA throughout my academic journey so far. After this season, I am looking to transfer to another school to continue my softball career. I am excited to see what the future holds for me!

Softball has taught me to be committed, and resilient, and to keep pushing out of my comfort zone. I have learned from my past, which has helped me move forward in my journey. I have been successful on and off the field; I believe in myself and have never allowed anyone’s opinions to stop me from pushing myself harder towards achieving my goals. Through softball, I have been able to find my voice and become a leader among my teammates. While also being able to create numerous lifelong friendships with girls on my team.

I’m always putting the work in to be better on and off the field, and value hard work above everything else. During my time in college, I’ve been able to maintain a 3.9 GPA while balancing my education, softball practice/workouts, social life, and staying connected to family and friends at home. I’m looking for a school that has programs that are related to Biology, Biochemistry, or Pre-med. This is because I plan to pursue a career in the medical field either as a Clinical Scientist or a Doctor.

I would love to continue my career at a 4-year school that will push me both physically and mentally during my time there. Along with helping me to become a better player and person.

Thank you for taking the time to read my personal state and view my profile!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
