I went into my freshman year with absolute excitement for my softball season. My team had some amazing seniors who taught me how to love the game my first year back in fifth grade. That season was cut to just one game because of COVID. I was heartbroken but even though the season didn’t happen I took advantage of the time I still had with them. They showed me how to lead while creating a safe space for all of the girls on the team. They talked about how hard I would have to work for not only myself but the other girls on the team once they leave for college. Now I am a junior and a two-year captain for my high school. The leadership skills I have come from those senior girls from my freshman year. I believe that my work ethic, leadership skills, passion, and commitment will help me play at the college level. They will also help me pursue the career in law I have dreamed about since I can remember.
One of those seniors helped me discover my love for the justice system through an extra circular club, Mock Trial. Through this I learned so much about time management being on a travel softball team, attending a high academic school, and participating in this devoting club. This is one of the most useful skills that I have learned. This will help me be a devoted and focused leader on your team.
