I am a student at Trivium Prep, an all honors high school, and hold myself to a high standard academically. I am able to maintain a 3.7 GPA, while juggling work, soccer, volunteering and church. Soccer is something that I truly enjoy and thrive in. Playing goalkeeper is not just a skill game, it is a mental game as well. The ability to accept getting scored on, is the most difficult part. When I decided not to hold onto every mistake I made, I became a better player because of it. I've started on my varsity team since freshmen year, and for each of my club teams. In my most recent club tournament, we won after I saved 2 out of 5 penalty kicks during the final shoot out. The feeling of helping my team to a victory was rewarding and exhilarating. The relationships on both of my teams push me to do my best, because I care for my teammates.
I hope to study Industrial Relations and History in preparation for law school. My family has done foster care for many kids and it was a very enlightening time for me. That is the reason for which I want to be a family lawyer, I want to ensure that whoever decides a child's future, has their best interests at heart, and can make the hard decisions. I volunteer at the Phoenix Rescue Mission food bank and I've also made multiple mission trips down to Mexico to work with kids and help rebuilding efforts. My Panamanian family has helped me with my ability to speak advanced Spanish which has been instrumental during those trips. I enjoy my work as a lifeguard for the Goodyear Aquatic Center. I rescued 2 children from active drowning during this past summer of 2021. I value my communities within school, soccer and church. I strive to be helpful where I can and make contributions which elevate the quality and inclusiveness of those communities. I see myself being involved in my college community and loving every minute!
