Sidney Coy '13 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Sidney Coy and I have been playing softball since the third grade. I really love the sport and would like to continue playing in college. My biggest strength as a player is my speed which helps my on base percentage as well as my fielding. My primary position in high school is center field, however I have also played right and left fields in club softball. I made the high school varsity team my freshman year and was recognized as an all region honorable mention player. This year, as a sophomore, I maintained the highest batting average on my team all season long.
I run track and field as well. I always put softball first and therefore, I will never realize my true potential running track. However, my natural ability allows me to help score points for the team even if I'm not always in first place.  I qualified for the state meet my freshman year in the 4x100 relay, placing 2nd; the long jump, placing 7th; and the 100m dash, placing 14th.  This year I qualified in the 100m dash, placing 20th and the long jump, placing 5th.
Although playing sports is a priority for me, I always place a greater emphasis on academics. I have maintained above a 4.0 since I started high school and I plan to continue making good grades throughout my four years of high school. 
Finally, out of respect for the game of softball, I always behave appropriately on and off the field. I support my teammates by constantly role modeling good behaviors. I love being part of a team and I love the game of softball.  It is my strong desire to remain part of the game as long as I possibly can.
