I spent my younger years at the ballpark with my mom and her teammates and learned then that softball is the sport that I wanted to play. I wanted to play at that time because of the friendships my mom had with her teammates.
I started playing softball at 5 years old and haven't looked back. I love the bond I have with my teammates/coaches, they are my 2nd family.
I attend Yale Softball Academy in Abbotsford, BC, Canada for off-season training and the ability to attend fall showcases. My club team is Fraser Valley Fusion 2001A Gold. I am the starting catcher and when I'm not back catching I play 3rd base. This past season our team came in 2nd place in the majority of the tournaments that we entered and also in the BC provincial championships.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I attend a work-out session with my head coach DJ Boschmann to work on strength and conditioning and also to prepare me for university/college work-outs. Every Wednesday I also take batting practice with DJ Boschmann. I also get catching instruction from Charlotte Dolan (UCLA Alumni/former Junior Canadian National Team catcher) at Yale Softball Academy. I have noticed alot of positive results with doing the above, for example my throwing speed went from 62mph to 68mph and my pop time went from 1.98 to 1.86.
As a catcher I am a leader on the field but I am also a leader off the field and my teammates look to me for guidance. I have been told by numerous coaches that I am extremely coachable and take criticism very well.
I bat right and am a power-hitter. I bat in the 3 spot for both my high school and club team. My teammates and parents have often times referred to me as "clutch" because I can perform well in stressful situations often times coming up with the big hit to win the game.
I aspire to one day play softball at the university/college of my dreams and obtain a law degree.
