Brendan Focken '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing box lacrosse since the age of 5 years old. I began with Burnaby Lakers and 3 years ago made the change to the Coquitlam Adanacs.
In 2017, and 2018 I played with the Junior Stealth Traveling team. Other teams I have played with include Huntington Beach Elite Lacrosse, Pacific Coast Lacrosse Club as well as High Sierra Lacrosse where I played as a free agent. The opportunities I have had to play for some of the most elite lacrosse coaches, including Shawn Evans, Tyler Pace, Curtis Dickson, Curtis Hodgeson, Lewis Ratcliff, Chris (OD) O'Dougherty, Kyle Sorensen, and others.
Each coach has brought different skills to help me improve my game, built my confidence and made me a better team player.
Over the past few years I have witnessed how players that listen to the coaches overall have better results.
My father passed away a year ago and some of these great coaches are the ones that stepped up for me. When I put the helmet on, I focus on what I can do to be the better player. I want to be the player that the team can always count on.
Other recruits are going to tell you how many goals they score, or hits they make. I am the one that isnt afraid of the ball, and help the goalie. I am the defender that passes that ball to my teammate to get it out of our zone. I am the player that is willing to learn as the coaches are the ones that always have the best interest of the team.
