Megan Watkins '19 Recruiting Profile

I have played 8 years of travel ball.  3 years in baseball and 5 years in softball.  I always wanted to play college ball, first it was in baseball and people said I should and then I switched to softball and I knew that I still wanted to attend a college and play softball because it is the next challenge in my life to play at a higher level and push myself even harder.

I am a team leader and often lead by example along with encouraging my teammates to be better.  I have always been coachable and always strive to be the hardest working player out there.  I was described as a "gym rate" by a college coach at a camp I attended because I pushed harder than anyone else and was making diving catches all over the field.

In the classroom I challenge myself and maintain a high GPA.  I held a 4.0 all year in 8th grade.  I'm not satisfied with mediocrity.  I also volunteer for a foster family business that places children in good homes.  

I would like to attend a college that has a family atmosphere between players and coaches and where I can challenge myself in the classroom and on the field.  I am open to all options and would like to attend the college that best fits me and has a high level of competition and will allow me to obtain my college degree in my field of interest.  I have always had a dream of playing for Team USA and I want to achieve that dream. I feel I will be a great role model for younger kids interested in the sport and look forward to making my parents proud.
