Hello coaches! I am Malia Whitehouse, a 2026 shortstop, infield and utility player. I attend La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, CA where I made the varsity softball team as a freshman and was a starter shortstop. How did I get involved in sports? Well, thanks to my dad, my athletic career began at the age of 5 when I started racing BMX bikes. I raced nationally and became #1 in the Expert Girls Class in the United States and Canada before hanging up my bike at the age of 10 to play softball. As an only child, what really captured me about softball was being part of a team. Successfully racing BMX bikes at a young age taught me the importance of being a dedicated and determined worker both on and off the field because I have also overcome dyslexia with the help of my parents and a dyslexia specialist. Going into high school, I was above grade level earning all A's and B's in my 8th-grade classes and I earned a 3.7 GPA at the end of my freshman year in high school. In college, I would love to study communications or broadcasting. I hope you enjoy my profile and videos. Thank you!
