My name is Morgan Ingram; I am a senior at St Mary's Academy, a private school located in Inglewood, CA. I plan to major in Social Work and minor in business management. The purpose of this statement is to express my desire and passion to pursue softball at the next level. I plan to give my all, all the time to reach this lofty goal. Softball has given me so many amazing opportunities and connected me with amazing coaches and teammates who I look up to. My ultimate goal is to play softball at the college level. I am not overly concerned of the division level; I just want to be on the field with a team. I am willing to put whatever it takes into becoming the best softball player I’m capable of being. I understand that the term student athlete is what matters most when it comes to being able to play on the field and I promise to uphold that title with respect, commitment and honor. I believe that being part of a team creates life long bonds, and character. Throughout my high school years I have always searched for the teammate role, joining clubs and student council, becoming a freshman mentor and mentoring young individuals in the non-profits I work with. I am always eager to pass on my knowledge of sports and academics because I understand that peer to peer mentoring is what builds the brightest future in our world. With that, I also understand that I have a respectable image to uphold for those who look up to me in and out of school. I believe that the only way to get better at something is by challenging and pushing yourself to work harder each day. This is why I find team sports and working with peers so appealing. Believe it or not softball is not an easy game, it can be challenging at times but that feeling I get when I step up to the plate, whether its a win or a lost what matters is that I know that I have people rooting for me and counting on me. It's a feeling that I could never give up for anything. Its what pushes me and keeps me going. Softball is a game of precision, timing, and focus, all of which keep me feeling alive and purposeful. Not only is softball a sport but a real world skill builder and family originator. Softball is a community and lesson everyone should apply to their lives one step at a time.
