Kaya Collado '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kaya and I’m a true lefty slapper who can hit for power.   In Tagalog Kaya means “capable” and I am a capable all around student athlete and school leader maintaining a 4.2 GPA. I’m a 3 varsity sport high school athlete, juggling flag football, softball and golf. However my true passion is softball which I’ve played since I was 5 years old.  I grew up on softball & baseball fields and both my older siblings currently play at the collegiate level.

I am capable of handling an incredibly busy extra-curricular schedule while maintaining a strong balance between athletics, education, and extracurriculars as demonstrated through my participation in ASB, Camp Coach at SCATS Gymnastics and being a youth ministry leader at St. Bonaventure Church.

These activities have helped me see the value of teamwork targeted towards a common goal. All of this combined with my daily softball training and high GPA has confirmed that I am capable of hard work and perseverance and that I’d be a great candidate for many collegiate softball programs.  

Overall, I am focused on looking for a college where I can continue to live out my passion for softball, mental health and community service, as well as further my education. I plan to major in STEM and potentially pursue a career in engineering or nursing.
