Hi my name is Jayden Galindo and I am a 5’2, 110 lb pitcher. I am the starting pitcher for varsity at Lakeside High School and I am also the pitcher for my travel team, Arsenal. When I am not pitching, I play second base. As of now, I can throw a screw, curve, rise, drop, change-up, and a backdoor change-up. Words can’t explain how passionate I am about this game. Softball is the thing that is always on my mind 24/7 and it is something I have dedicated my life to. When I am in the circle, I love to feel the adrenaline going through my body with each pitch and each play. Most people start to slowly fall apart when under pressure, but I thrive under pressure.
Throughout my 10 years of playing softball, I have accomplished many things. I have made 3 of my league’s All-star teams, helped lead my team into becoming district champions in 2017, took second in a tournament in Lake Tahoe, took second in the Winter Legacy showcase, took first place in the Veteran’s Day tournament, and I have earned many MVP medals. I pitched every game in both my freshman and sophomore year of high school. During this last season for 2021, I helped lead my high school team into being the first softball team to take first place in CIF. I was also named All CIF Southern Section Player of The Year for 2021.
As a pitcher, you are basically controlling the game with each pitch. My main strength as a pitcher is the amount of spin I can put on the ball. One of my weaknesses as a pitcher, is my arm speed but it has been rapidly increasing with the help of my pitching, strength and conditioning coach. In the future, I plan on majoring in liberal arts to become a teacher and softball coach. While I am teaching, I plan to attend school again to study to become a sports broadcaster.
