Elizabeth "Buffy" Goodwin '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Elizabeth "Buffy" Goodwin.  I play travel ball for the elite Firecrackers - Brashear team in which I am a Triple Threat Slapper/Utility player.

I am now a Junior (2022 Grad)  as I just completed my freshman year at softball powerhouse Paraclete Catholic High School, located in Lancaster, California, where I am an outstanding AP/Honors student maintaining a 3.8 GPA.

I am the Varsity Team Captain and starting catcher (First Team All-League Selection and Newcomer of the Year last season as a Freshman), albeit I can play any position, as well as being a speedy-triple-threat slapper that can hit for power. I can hit the ball hard or soft and I run fast! As a fielder, I can play any position including pitcher.

I claimed First Place at the 2019 National Fastpitch Speed Combine Fireworks/Sparkler in Aurora, CO, in the Agility Shuttle event, finishing #1 of 164 players.  I also finished in Fourth Place overall (#4 of 164) in the Ball Exit Velocity event, hitting 71 mph (after being tired from just finishing a game).  This is just further proof that I am a Speedy Triple-Threat Slapper with homerun power.

Last year I achieved one of my softball goals by being selected to play on an elite Firecrackers team coached by Sean Brashear. I played catcher primarily for Firecrackers - Brashear RB 16U and 18U teams.  I was recently selected for the Firecrackers-Brashear team.

It’s an honor to play with such talented and amazing teammates.

Furthermore, I previously (last 2 years ago) played primarily catcher and occasionally shortstop/centerfield on my elite/select travel team, Firecrackers-Thornburg, (PGF Surf City September Startup Tournament Champions, TCS Monster Mash San Diego Tournament Champions, and TCS Pre-Thanksgiving Cup Tournament Champions) and I wear jersey #92.

My dream and goal is to attend college, play softball, and possibly pursue a degree in exercise sports science/kinesiology.

It is a lifelong dream of mine to play the game I love so dearly at the collegiate level and to earn a degree in which softball may assist me to attain.

My father is retired military so I have moved a lot. School location is not an issue with me.
