I am a very athletic player, and I can learn and develop new skills very quickly. When I was younger, I wanted to play every sport I could, so I developed knowledge in many sports and a competitive nature. As I got older, I focused more on softball, but the athleticism I gained from playing so many sports previously has helped me to reach where I am today. When I was young, my parents coached my sibling and me in our sports. I would go to not only my own practices, but also those of my older sister. Through playing with older girls, I reached their ability and quickly outperformed those in my age group. With a greater knowledge and better performance, I became a leader on my team. Because of this, I would always help my teammates and grew into a mentor on the field. My natural leadership and competitiveness has driven me to success in softball, and everything I do.
When I got older, I was asked to play on a competitive team, and on that team I was a year younger than the other players. I was used to playing with older girls, so I thrived in the competitive environment. I was still a leader on the team, despite being younger, and I was able to outperform my teammates and the majority players on other teams in tournaments. My team and I went to the NSA World Series every year (that totals four World Series tournaments), but we didn't always have success in the high level competition. The last year I played on the team, we won the world series; the path to finally winning that tournament taught me a lot about persistence. Every year we worked hard to continue to get better than the competition, and eventually the hard work payed off at my last tournament with the team.
I am a very hard working student and athlete, and I believe that I would be an asset on your team. I have a high batting average, and am trusted as a lead off batter or anywhere in the lineup to get on base, especially in clutch situations. I almost never have an error due to my focus and drive, and fast reaction time, so I can perform on the field as well as behind the plate in addition to the batters box.
