Hello College Coaches
My name is Jayah Sansome uncommitted 2023. I am the eldest daughter in my family of 5. I have developed many characteristics being the oldest and taking care of my two siblings. It takes an abundant amount of responsibility to care for my two-year-old sister. Because of this, my family considers me to be accountable and make sure everything runs smoothly. Being the oldest, I know myself to be punctual, dedicated, and task-oriented. I try my hardest to balance both school and softball, so obtaining these characteristics help me to stay on track. Outside of softball I love to spend time with my family, travel and go to my local church for youth group.
I aspire to be the best version of myself and be satisfied with any outcome that happens after I graduate high school. I would be beyond grateful to attend a D1 or D2 program, but my preferred goal is to attend D3, NAIA, or NJCAA. Another goal I want to focus on is finishing this school year strong and staying on top of my schoolwork.
I would be a great candidate and beneficial to your program because I can offer my many qualities to your softball team. On the field, I am very energetic, strong, and concentrated. I also keep my diet and physique healthy. It is important to keep up with my body so my athletic performance can be efficient on the field. Off the field, I am known as kind and considerate. Even though I am introverted, I like to make personal and long-lasting relationships.
I am an over-thinker, which can be good because I learn to gather the most important details while observing my surroundings. But this is a challenge for me on the field because mistakes happen and I tend to dwell on my errors, contemplating how or what I could’ve done to perform better. I try to avoid this negative outcome by turning to my teammates or coaches for supportive feedback. I remind myself that I can only learn from my mistakes and focus on my future.
I am looking forward to new changes in my life, new friendships, and connecting with a new school. I cannot wait for the different opportunities and new series in my life. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement! Have a great day.
