My name is Skylar Sybesma, and I am an 06 (2024). I'm currently a junior attending at Redondo Union High School. I throw left and I am a lefty hitter that can slap. My primary position is CF, but I can play any outfield position. I am also a secondary 1st basemen. I currently take AP Bio and I am on the 4 year pathway of BioMed; enrolled in 3rd year Medical Interventions. I am utilized as a slapper and am always taught to read my defense to know whether a slap or a powered up hit is applicable (triple threat). I have a very good range in the outfield as I can cover my own position and the gaps. I will always dive in order to catch a ball, the adrenaline of diving is what I live for. I enjoy the game because not only am I able to play with the people I love around me, but it has taught me many life skills including how to keep my composure, deal with hardships, tense situations, maintain mentally strong, as well as time management. It has taught me to turn my nerves into excitement and use it as a positive. No matter what happens, I always put my whole heart and effort into this game. In my free time I enjoy surfing at the beach, playing spike ball, and hanging out with my friends. I plan to further my softball career in the future and play at a competitive level of college ball. I've had the dream of playing college since 8u and I plan on achieving that goal/dream by my work ethic, dedication, and love for the game. Softball Instagram; @skylarsybesma44
