I started to play softball around 13 because of my sister, I went to one of her games, and I got this adrenaline of playing with her. I started to practice with her, for I can play next year on my community team, which is called the Indian Wells Valley Youth softball team. As I started to play, I learned that I began to catch on fast. Within my second year of playing, I learned how to play in every spot except the catcher. I started to fall in love with pitching. Since my freshman year, I have been the primary pitcher for my school's team. During my freshman year, I had the hardest obstacle in my path. I broke and dislocated my ankle, but it didn't stop me from keeping on practicing in the summer as a pitcher. I was able to play the following year. I know now that I am a stronger person and that I could push myself past my limit.
One of my strengths has to be my dedication to a project and that I always give 120% in everything I do. Once I get started on an assignment or hobby, I need to finish it and be sure it's completed correctly. However, a weakness that I also have is dedication and giving my all. My strength is also my weakness. I lean towards focusing too much on the details. I want the project to be perfect, but it also leads me to not finishing it. I'm working on letting go of that tendency towards perfectionism by trying to focus more on the bigger picture. This approach has resulted in an improvement in my work overall.
One of my hobbies is baking and helping my community. Ever since I was little, I loved to cook with my father. Now I use this hobby to help family members and friends. I helped raise money for my sister's hearing aid and my friend's letterman's jacket that she could not afford. I got her a letterman's jacket as a senior gift. I also enjoy being involved in my school's Rotary Interact Club. I also enjoy being involved in my community Ridgecrest Autism Awareness Group.
