Currently I attend & play softball at College of San Mateo
My collegiate goals are to attend a 4 year university that I can play competitive softball and major in Kinesiology, I found out that I can play the game I love and get an education, it is much better for me as I get older. My immediate collegiate goals are to play the game that I love for a college/university that is in lock-step with my passion for sports medicine. I also like to help others, as well as stay in the field of sports so for me sports therapy is my long-term goal, and softball is my key for that goal.
I am all about playing the game loose and cheering with my teammates. I learned early to play the game loose so the game comes to you as an individual more natural. The alternative is that the ball will find you, and not in a way you want it. The more I can spread that to my teammates and in turn we feed off each other, it doesn't matter whether we win or lose. Playing lose is not playing scared. I'll take what I can get from the results of the game. That is what makes me different as being an athlete with character. The pressure to win is ok because it is all part of the game, using that pressure to excel rather than give in is what drives me every day to play softball. It's the only game (other than baseball) that is set up for you to fail. By not failing and executing "against" the rules is the most rewarding moment I can experience playing softball- (other than winning a tournament of course). Only to do it again or at least have a chance to do it again the next game. I love making something so difficult for most people appear seamless for me.
I love to be active at my school. As well as striving to be the best in my classes, and I am involved in the Latin Club, the Polynesian Club, and the Choir. I also play the ukulele. Music and singing go in rhythm , just like pitching. I believe being involved in school makes the complete athlete and recruit. I believe that colleges just don't want a player, they want a "person" with personality. I believe colleges want a person with character, rather than characters. I believe the unique school for my unique style is out there for me. I look forward to meeting with my future coach!
Thank you for your time,
Sincerely ,
Nohemi Livingston-Ordonez
