I started playing softball with my twin sister when I was five years old. After trying several sports, I knew I belonged on the softball field. I love being part of a hardworking team, all aspiring to do our best and supporting one another. After trying several positions, outfield, catcher and third base, I was asked to pitch on my 12U Gold All-Star team. I had only pitched a bit here and there when needed but had velocity early on. After winning the C-States championship and competing at Nationals (a first for our rec league), I knew I wanted to continue pitching and hopefully play at the collegiate level. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my entire life.
I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I’m told I am very coachable, and I strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. My high school is a more challenging school and does tri-semesters, so there isn’t time to get lost in a course! I have also been a volunteer at Best Buddies since middle school and really enjoy working with special needs students. Our K-8 school was designated as main campus for special needs students and prioritized the partnership between students, so integration was easier. It was fun to have these students in class, especially my Best Buddy Paul, who brought humor to our learning environment.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the field. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of education and competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all peers and make my parents proud, as well as the many coaches and mentors I have had along the way who have believed in me.
