Makayla Youngman '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Makayla Youngman, I am 16 years old and I'm a Junior. I go to Sonora Union High School in Sonora, California. I am going to graduate in 2025. Softball has always been my passion and will forever be my passion. I play Varsity Golf and Varsity Softball for my high school. I am the 2023-2024 1st Vice President of my FFA chapter at my school. I am also very active in my chapter with all of our events.  I hope to finish my senior year as the President of the Sonora FFA Chapter. The travel team I play for is Grapettes Conde -16U my coaches are Shawn Conde and Brianna Parker. I play third base, first base, right field, left field, and utility. My jersey number is 27, in honor of one of the younger travel ball girls I met during my freshman year of High School softball. She said, "Makayla I want to be just like you when I play third base!" It broke me when I found out she passed away in a car accident. Now I play for her every time I go onto that field with that number on my back. My hitting and fielding instructor is Brandi Harrison she has helped me become who I am as a player today. I am a team player and always give 110% effort, whether in a game or at practice. I am upbeat, loud, coachable, and love to hit the ball hard all the time. I have been going to a gym tailored to athletes, where we work on our speed, strength, and agility. Chris Forster is the trainer and owner of Altitude Sports Performance and he is amazing at what he does. I have been going there for a little over a year and I can personally tell a difference in my athleticism. Not only can I tell a difference but my coaches, family, and friends can tell a difference too. I enjoy pushing myself to become a better athlete and person and putting in work off the field.
