Hi, My name is Leah Richardson I am a power hitting corner and outfielder from Tracy California. I started playing softball at 4 years and old and transitioned to travel ball when I was 8. My love for the game started before I was even eligible to play t-ball. I remember being at the fields every weekend watching my sister play, my dad coach her, and my mom score keep the games. I often wondered when it would be my turn to play instead of just watch. Throughout my softball journey I have not only learned so much about myself but I've learned the true definition of what it means to be a team and work together towards a common goal. My parents have been a big part of my softball career and if it wasn't for them constantly pouring their love, time and energy into me and making sacrifices I wouldn't be typing this personal statement. My goal has always been to play D1 softball and obtain a degree in health/medicine or business. On July 29th, 2020 my mother passed away and I can easily say that was the hardest day of my life. Life has been tough on me but I'm no where near ready to give up, I have dreams and goals I want to accomplish not only for me but for my mom as well. I am confident that I will thrive if given the opportunity to play college softball. As far as academics I have maintained a 3.5-4.0 GPA throughout high school and plan to do the same in college.
