Coach
I have always loved softball and dreamed of playing in college. At 5 my mom signed me up for gymnastics and soon after that I made the gold competition team. It was fun but it just was not something I got excited about. I was then introduced to softball by another parent and knew it was something special. As a young athlete I knew this was something I wanted. I practiced everyday with my Dad as well as being on my first team "The Gold Miners" They got me a jersey and I was ready to go. Everyone picked a position and ran out on the field. I was still standing there so my coach said your on home plate so do you want to catch and showed me the gear. I put it on and this is the position I developed all the way till I got to 14U. I loved catching but I had started to play on a travel team and there already was a catcher so the coach put me on 2nd base. Although a little disappointed I thought I would give it a try cause all that mattered was I was playing and on the filed. I am so glad I did for the infield was my destiny. I was always taught that disappointment are a part of life's learning experiences to make you stronger. I have learned to be flexible and take everything I was taught along the way as a learning experience from playing time to just being supportive of my teammates when in the dugout and routing them on. All is part of the game and why I have loved it all these years. I have always had to work based on my own ability to get to where I am now both on the field and at school. It has made me a better player and a better person. I knew I always wanted to play in college to further my love of the game as well as my education going to a good school. I also know that everything I have learned in both are giving me all the tools to be successful in life later as well and will never forget later how I got there and appreciate the people who helped me along the way to become the person I am today.
