Angelee Vigil '22 Recruiting Profile

I am a student at Denver Center for International Studies, being part of this community allows me to be a global citizen. With the many languages my school offers, I have chosen to focus on Spanish.  I have studied Spanish for five years and am currently trying to obtain my Seal of Biliteracy. Not only have I practiced Spanish in the classroom but have taken language immersion trips to Costa Rica and Spain. I have also taken other educational trips to Italy & Morocco.     

I have many volunteer hours as well as school service hours. It is an important factor for me as I  am working to acquire the second high school diploma my school offers, the Denver Center for International Studies diploma. To add on to my high school portfolio, I have organized many school events. One being a gun control event which included a guest speaker whose son had passed in the Columbine school shooting. 

Apart from organizing school events, I am a part of many clubs such as Student Council, National Honor Society, Ambassadors, Yearbook, and tutor underclassmen. While balancing all extracurriculars, I am able to maintain an outstanding GPA by taking both AP classes and Concurrent Enrollment classes at the Community College of Denver. 

Although my school does not offer sports, I am still able to play high school softball as well as competitive. With everything considered to this point in my life, softball is my passion, I love stepping on the field and letting everything else go. I enjoy the thrill of the game as well as the dedication and hardwork softball takes.
