My name is Mia Moore and I am a outfielder from Fort Collins, Colorado. I have been playing softball since I was 6 years old. Growing up I played pretty much every sport including soccer, basketball, golf, hockey, and even dance. However, softball was the one that I fell in love with as a little girl and I still love to this day.
As a softball player I think some of my most valuable skills are my high softball IQ, great range in the outfield, I get great reads on balls, I am smart at the plate, and I am an aggressive but intelligent base runner. I also pride myself in being a great leader, a caring teammate, and a very hardworking and coachable player. I strongly believe in doing the right thing even when no one is watching and I live by that rule in my everyday life, and in sports. This is one thing that sets me apart from other players, because I am always willing to do extra work, or help someone even if I won't get recognition for it.
I am very grateful for all of the opportunities I have been given when it comes to playing softball. I was given the opportunity to play varsity my freshman and sophomore years of high school, for one of the top programs in the state, and I earned a varsity letter both years. I have also played for the Triple Crown Stars under Dave King for the past three travel/club ball seasons, and will continue playing for them my last year of club softball. I have played on the 18 Gold team the last two years of travel/club ball.
When it comes to academics, I have always been very invested in school, and have always valued education. I have kept close to a 4.00 GPA through my first two years of high school, and hope to keep a high GPA throughout high school. I am a member of National Honors Society and spend a lot of time volunteering through NHS. As I said before, academics are very important to me, which means that I want to go to a school were I can receive a very high quality education while still playing the sport I love.
