Coach Grammerstorf's comments after my Freshman Season:
In my 20 years of coaching I have not seen a player as prepared for high school softball and as focused on her goals as Emilee, both on the field and in the classroom. She comes ready to work everyday and does whatever you ask of her to make herself and team better. She will work to execute whatever you need to do and has an impressive knowledge of the game for such a young player. One of the aspects about Emilee that I appreciate the most is what a great teammate she is. This year she was accepted by all of her older teammates and they were able to relate on all levels. She is also one of those players that never wants to leave the field. A prime example of this is when she broke her nose and wanted to play the very next day. When all is said an done, I know that Emilee is going be one of the very best players to have ever played for me or this program.
With that, I would like you to know that being the daughter of former collegiate athletes, my father in baseball and mother in volleyball, I have been taught from an early age the importance and thrill of competition. I know how to prepare myself through hard work, to be gracious in defeat, and to humble in victory. With my Mom being an education administrator, I also understand and embrace the importance of a world class education.
I began playing softball at the age of 7. I started in a recreational league but moved up to the competitive ranks when I was 8 by playing for a 10U team. I have always played up and will continue to do so because I want to be challenged each and every day so I can become the best player and person I can possibly be.
In 2013, and again in 2014, I was voted onto the USSSA of Colorado/Wyoming 14U South All-Star team. This honor was earned even though I was a 12U eligible player both years. In 2016 I was chosen to participate in the Triple Crown Sparkler All Star Showcase.
I am extremely confident that all of my goals will be met and that all of my dreams will come true because I am goal and success oriented and have the Heart of a Champion! This is evidenced not only by my softball accomplishments, but also by the fact that at the age of five (5) I began Tae Kwon Do and three (3) months into it I set a goal of getting my Black Belt. Shortly thereafter I began training three (3) days per week at least one (1) hour per day. Maintaining this training regiment over the next seven (7) years, I not only reached my goal but surpassed it by earning my Second Degree Black Belt at the age of 12. I also became a three (3) time Colorado State Champion along the way. I am academically inclined as well, getting straight A's and being selected as a Member of the National Junior Society, as well as being a 2015 Honoree at the National Girls and Women in Sports Luncheon for Academic and Athletic Excellence.
Again, I know how and love to compete and would greatly appreciate an opportunity to discuss your program, your school and how we would all benefit by becoming teammates.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
