Jessica Greenwood '19 Recruiting Profile

I am a junior in high school and have been playing softball since 5th grade.  As I got better as a player, I realized that I needed to play against better competition to be my best. So when I was 12 years old, I tried out for a 14-U club team and made the team. I struggled at first, but by the end of the season I had moved up from the bottom of the line-up to hitting 5th or 6th in the line-up.  I have grown to love playing the game and am saddened by the thought of being done with the sport I love at the end of high school. Since I plan on going to college, I would love to continue playing throughout my time there.  

Coaches have told me numerous times that I am very coachable, that I'm a great team player, and that I'm a hard worker. When I'm at practice, I like to be focused on getting better as a team and better personally.  There is always room for improvement and ways to get better. If I'm struggling with a part of my game, I ask coaches to stick around with me after practice to work on those weaknesses.
