My name is Lindsay Black, I will be a 2022 graduate. I have played since I was 9, but didn't realize how much I loved softball until I was in 8th grade and had my first taste of competitive play . That competitive play is when my drive and passion for the sport started and I realized I wanted to play college softball. Unfortunately I was unable to play my freshman year as I was committed to play volleyball, which in High School coincided with softball. However I have made up for the time I had lost then by playing High School softball and joining a traveling competitive team. Since then I have grown not only as a player but as a teammate and an individual as well.
I am a hard-working and determined player and student. Once I set my mind to a goal I will achieve that goal. Early on in my career, I had a coach that wanted me to play 3rd base as a left handed player. That season was difficult for me but I was determined to play and I didn't let that get me down and now I am at a more natural position of 1st base. Multiple times a week I go to a field to get fielding practice, I have a consistent hitting schedule, and I have recently started working with a hitting coach.
Outside of softball I am still very involved in my school. I play basketball so I could stay in shape in the off season of softball, I also was the tennis manager so I could better understand the management of a sports team. I am taking AP bio to prepare myself in my anticipated field of study which is athletic training. All-in-all I feel that I am a very devoted and supportive teammate and player.
