At age five, the first time my hand clutched the lefty glove my father had specially bought for me, I fell in love with the sport of softball. Not only did the calculated nature of the game spur my passion for it, but the process of work and reward that dominates this sport drove my ever-present motivation to succeed. I consider myself an all-around athlete and I have played sports all my life. While each individual sport has instilled essential ideals that built my character, those inspired by softball are incomparable. This unique sport has taught me the grueling process of practice until perfection, the universal lesson of teamwork, and how to come to terms with failures, but grow from those failures to create success.
Devotion to this sport throughout my life has fostered my ambitious goals of continuing my softball career to compete at the collegiate level. Rivaling my drive to succeed in softball is only my drive to succeed academically, something that is evident as I maintain a place in the top 10% of my high school class, and continue to challenge myself with AP and honors-level classes. As a naturally determined student-athlete, I thrive within demanding settings and enjoy being pushed out of my comfort zone, as that is where improvement will occur. My personal attributes, such as a strong work ethic, focused mindset, and left-handed dominance have enabled me to find success thus far and will continue to push me to find my strengths as I pursue my passions in college.
