Hello Coaches, my name is Abby Farr and I am going to be a Senior at Windsor Locks High School, CT this coming fall. Going into my 7th grade I decided to further my softball experience into the summer and tryout for a travel team. The organization I chose to play for was the Connecticut Tigers. After one summer I had made up my mind that I was interested in playing college softball. Most girls aren't blessed enough to say that they have played for the same organization and with the same teammates for their whole lives. Just last year we place 4th in the U16 national tournament in Windsor, CT that had over 40 teams participating. For years I have known that softball was the sport for me, but since sophomore year of high school I started to narrow in on my career path. I am interested in the study of law and criminology. I value my academics over everything, and that will never change, but I have used softball as my driving force for years. My travel team and coaches have shown me the hardships that the sport can bring, but also the friendships and skills that I can walk away with for the rest of my life. My physical skills have improved in the sport tremendously, but my mental game has improved as well. Mental toughness isn't easy to learn, and I believe that over the years I have learned to be headstrong and optimistic. I owe everything to the game, and I would love to continue my academic and athletic career as a college athlete.
