My name is Madison DeRoussel (pronounced like the battery) and I started playing T-ball at age 5. By the time I started playing city softball at age 10, I realized I was pretty good and wanted to perfect what I had already learned. I started travel ball at age 11 and also played all 3 years at Max Bruner Middle School in Fort Walton Beach.
I am currently playing travel ball with Clubhouse 16U. I made the Fort Walton Beach High School Varsity team as a freshman (2020) and I am a Varsity starter. I will be a 2023 graduate. My main position is pitcher, although I love to play other positions, especially in the outfield.
I take pitching lessons from Kelsey Sweatt. (UWF current pitcher) I have 6 different pitches but currently rely most on my fastball, curveball, and screwball. My goal is to have all pitches perfected to use at anytime. I also take batting lessons from Justin Nunley at Extra Innings in Fort Walton Beach.
In addition to softball, I joined the Fort Walton Beach High School Cross Country team 2020. I was an All- District and All- Region runner and I am hoping to run cross country and play softball in college. I was awarded the "Work Ethic" award by my cross country coach. I also enjoy working out with my trainer JP Mikael at M3 Strength and Conditioning in Fort Walton Beach. I work hard both on and off the field and I am pleased when I hear my coaches tell me they can see my progress and determination.
My goal is to continue my softball career playing in college. I am leaning toward a Criminal Justice or business/sport management career. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and I am taking some advanced and honor courses. I will be taking AP language in my Junior year. I like to push myself in the classroom, on the field, and at the gym.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and look at my profile.
Sincerely,
Madison DeRoussel
