Katie Chronister '16 Recruiting Profile

Softball is my passion, but I haven't been playing all of my life. I started playing travel softball at age 9, and throughout the years, my team has gone through a lot. I have been with the same travel organization, Santa Fe Inferno, since I was in 10U. When I was playing on my first year 12U team, we ventured out to compete in the 12U Babe Ruth World Series in Alachua, FL. We went undefeated and swept the series. During the World Series, I was awarded with the game MVP for pitching four solid innings in a game. The following year we competed in the USSSA World Series in Orlando, FL. We fought to the best of our abilities and ended up coming in 5th place overall. During my time in middle school, I played softball all three years. While I was in eighth grade, we won the District Championship.

Academically, I am in the Cambridge Program at Gainesville High School. It is a demanding program that requires a lot of hard work. I finished my freshmen year on the A/B honor roll. I was the starting varsity pitcher for the school team. The Gainesville High School Hurricanes made it to Class 6A States in Florida for the first time in history!

My biggest goal in life is making it into a Division I school. I train everyday to improve my skills and get more educated in the game of softball. School always comes first though. I dream of being a pitcher in a tough academic school with one of the top softball associations, preferably the most competitive! My dream is to compete with the best of the best.
