Greetings, Coach
I would like to formally introduce myself as a prospective candidate to your prestigious softball program. My name is Jadae Cummins an upcoming High School 2021 graduate. Coming from a generation of softball players from my great grandmother, grandmother and mom softball has been imbedded in my soul. At the tender age of 4 ½ my parents put me on a recreation softball team after playing for one season my coaches recommended that I play AAU travel ball becoming the youngest African American to play on that team. After playing as the 3rd, short stop and catcher for more than 7 years I left the softball scene to play travel basketball for 3 years. Upon entering High School, I couldn’t help but return to my first love softball.
Having an ambition on becoming one of the most influential softball players in my generation not just on the field and in academics but in my community as well. Being an advocate for gun violence after seeing several classmates being shot in my community. It has been my mission to encourage and promote peace within the world we live in. Gravitating to the word peace it is equally important to me that I continue to advocate for equality and justice, with the hopes that people from all over have the same rights as others.
Standing with a GPA of 3.6, excellent leadership skills, an awesome attitude and a great love for all. As an all-around student at Piper High serving as the President of our Pan-African club and African American society Club, A member of the MODS (Art Program), Communication Technical program and Business Accounting program. These prestigious programs gave me the liberty to enhance my talents in several diverse areas. It is my goal to improve my skills on all academic levels by continuously encouraging myself to become a more discipline student in my studies. Understanding my goal and admirations in life I strive to attend a prestigious institution that will aid and guide me to exceed my expectation.
As an overall athlete I have been awarded as one of the most disciplined, diverse and positive leaders receiving the coaches award my freshman year along with honorable mention freshman and sophomore year and an all-county nominee in softball my sophomore year. As the captain of my softball and basketball team I became a role model to all athletes ensuring positivity despite the obstacles we face throughout the season. It's my desire to become a successful businesswoman in the athletic world hoping to have an all-around athletic non- profit school in which students from all diverse backgrounds could attend despite their economic status. This school will be designed to encourage and promote a healthy environment for young athletes while building skills academically and athletically.
