From the time of when my teachers started asking what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always answered with something to do with writing. I went from an author, to a poet, but recently, I’ve been set on being a sports journalist. Being raised in Wisconsin, I grew up being a die-hard Packers fan and liked all of the teams in the state. But I’ve learned almost all the players on almost every team in almost every sport.
Graduating college has always been a dream of mine and I can’t imagine life afterwards if I don’t. Through my entire time in school, I’ve excelled at all language arts, and social studies classes, included foreign language. Having started learning Spanish in kindergarten, the topic has always been one to impress with. When I moved and had to change schools, whenever I told my teachers or my fellow students that I was so far ahead in Spanish, they were immediately struck with some kind of awe.
Ever since I started playing softball in second grade for a recreational team, my coaches have trained me to be the best I can on and off the field. Respect for all the officials and opposing teams was mandatory, and passion for the game was what every player needed to have. Commitment for the sport and motivation for the game were key to being any kind of successful player. If there was anytime during a game or practice that I wasn’t giving it my all, my coach would always keep me going and give me the motivation I might have been lacking.
Having the chance to play the sport I love in college would be a life’s dream come true. Being able to have this opportunity after working towards this for so many years is one of the best things to hear. There are a lot of people who are not able to say that they achieved their dreams, but I may be able to say it for myself.
