Hi Coach, I am Nadia Kalei English and I am a 2023 SS/C. I was born in Walnut Creek, California and moved to West Melbourne, Florida six years ago. I am a member of the varsity softball team and cheerleading squad at Melbourne High School. I also play travel ball for Batbusters Brooks. My priorities are 1) family and faith 2) respect for everyone 3) academic excellence 4) softball excellence. I was a competitive gymnast since age 4 until five years ago I started playing softball and realized it was my destiny. My love for the game is endless and unmatched and I thrive on competition and pressure. I want to play at the highest level in college, win National Titles, USA National Team, Olympic Team and Pro Pride Team. I am disciplined and committed 100% all the time with my effort and attitude to my training, my coaches and my teammates. As a 7th grader and 8th grader I was a varsity high school starter shortstop and catcher. As a 7th grader I was “Rookie of the Year” and 8th Grader “Best Defensive Player Fielding Average .966.” In August 2019, UCLA Softball Camp, I received Bruin Excellence Award for Best All Around Player and Leadership. Offensively, I have quick hands and explosive power at the plate with great movement all over the field hitting consistently in the 3/4 spot. Defensively, I have excellent footwork, quick transfer and a strong arm with a high softball IQ. I believe nothing is impossible if you are willing to show up and do the work. No matter what anyone says, whether they praise me, criticize me, or even notice me, I will show up and do the work and lead with my passion, determination, and athleticism to be my best every day for my team and myself. In Academia, I consistently take Honors classes and I have always been a Honor Roll Scholar. I am a critical thinker, problem solver with great listening skills and have a current GPA of 3.9. I would like to major in prelaw. Thank you for considering me as a prospect and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
