Personal Statement

Hi coaches,

My name is Maisi Sigler and I am a 2024 athlete, dedicated to going to the next level of softball. I currently play for D1Vision 16U Naitonal and I wear #43. I am primarily a first baseman and outfielder, however; I am a very fast learner and will be able to play wherever I am needed. I hit for power and contact and am known to be a leader on and off the field. I find it very easy to share my energy with the people around me and communication is one of my greatest strengths. A word that I associate myself with is tenacious. I think this word best fits me because once I start something- I won't stop until it's done. I make it my goal to put my all into everything I do- this is evident in my grades, my relationships, and my success in softball. I believe I am outgoing, approachable, mature, and determined. I have often been put into tight situations, and am able to work my team out of these dilemmas. I am a strong student-athlete with a weighted GPA of 4.67 and I attend the Academy of the Holy Names in Tampa, FL.

  • ActivitiesPOWER - President Passionate Outstanding Women Encouraging Respect - Academy of the Holy Names is an all-girls school that works to empower girls and prepare them for life after high school. This club works on ensuring that everyone's voice is heard as we educate our fellow students on important issues around the world such as racial inequalities, LGBTQ+ discrimination, gender equality, and more. During my freshman year, I applied for board member and was selected to represent the class of 2024 within this club. This club is insanely important to me because I pride myself in being able to create an open and safe space for the people around me. // National Beta Club- Board Member I have been a part of Beta since middle school (Jr. Beta), and I have found a large interest in leading this club. To be a part of this club, a student must have a weighted GPA of 3.8 or above. The National Beta Club recognizes and honors students for their achievement in the classroom. Its purpose is to further develop the individual by teaching young people to live life at its best daily and to become productive citizens. It emphasizes the development of traits of good character, service to others, leadership, and interpersonal skills. In 2021, I applied for a leadership position and was voted for Sophomore Class Representative, being a part of this club has shown me many ways to become more involved within the school and in my community. 2022-2023 President // TLC Teen Leadership Council - This club works closely with the middle school at the Academy of the Holy Names. The members of this club work to be leaders and mentors for the younger students in our community, meeting with different grade levels (5th through 8th) and helping them navigate their way through middle school. We discuss important topics such as study habits, social media, time management, and more. TLC has helped me strengthen my leadership abilities and has given me the opportunity to guide the middle school students in my community. // KEY Club Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. Being a part of this club allows me to serve my community while offering leadership opportunities. // Best Buddies Best Buddies is a team that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). I really enjoy this club because it has given me many opportunities to share my energy and enthusiasm as my club-members and I work to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. // Our Earth Club An original club at the Academy of the Holy Names, Our Earth Club helps raise awareness for our environment and brings people together to make an impact. This club meets with environmental scientists and works on clean-ups at local parks and beaches! // Spanish Honor Society // National Honor Society // Math Honor Society // Science Honor Society
