Hi I’m JaLynn Fredman and I am a 2024 softball player for Clearwater Lady Bombers -Spencer. I am an outfielder, pitcher and second baseman but I can also be placed at shortstop. I have homeschooled my entire academic career and I have a 3.8 GPA, and I am on pace to be dual enrolled in my freshman year of high school. During my free time I like to practice pitching and outfield drills, paint, and hangout with my family and friends.
I started playing softball at the age of 5. After playing for a season, I decided to peruse other interest in dance, horse back riding, bowling and Tae Kwan Do. 3 years later I realized my passion was softball and I have never looked back. Although, we had a losing season, I was the only 6th grader in the softball program at Ruskin Christian Academy to be giving the MVP as a varsity player and by unanimous decision. I learned very early on that it is what is best for the team and have even pulled myself from the mound because I was not benefiting us. That is one of the hardest things I have had to do as a starter. My parents are my biggest fans, they are always there and have always supported me and my decisions to play ball. In Oct of 2018, I was cleated during a practice resulting in 14 stitches to my shin. I was out for about a month however, during that time, I would still throw with my team and cheered them on during tournaments. It took me several months to regain my confidence but I pushed through and came back stronger than I was before.
I am currently looking for a college with a good academic program, a good softball program, in an area that offers many things to do yet is in an affordable and safe town. The collage that I wish to go to will help me expand my knowledge and ability athletically and academically, so that I may be successful throughout my career and in life. My wish is to lead my team to many victories and help them stand when we fall. I thank God for the opportunities HE has given me and am looking forward to the doors that HE will open along the way.
