After two seasons of t-ball at our neighborhood park, I started playing recreation softball at Murphey Candler when I was 6 years old. It was the first sport I really loved to play. I began playing on the league's select fall and spring teams, the Cobras, when I was in 8U and continued through my first season of 12U. While playing Cobras, I kept being placed at third base because of my strong arm. I really enjoy third because you always have to be in your toes and ready for the ball to come at you fast. The more I played it, the more I loved the position. I do consider myself a versatile player, as I also can go into the game as shortstop, outfielder, or catcher. I will play wherever the coach needs me.
My favorite part of the game is the team aspect; the cheering, encouraging, and pushing of each other through all the ups and downs of each season. As a player, I have individual goals and as a team, we have team goals; working with my teammates stretches me, as a person and a player.
While having a busy schedule with softball my parents have always made me put academics first. I push myself in school and on the field, I am hoping to find a college/ university with a good academic and athletic fit.
