Good Afternoon Coach,
My name is Amiah Moore, I was born on April 13, 2005 in Tacoma Washington. My dad is in the U.S. Army currently serving on active duty. I have lived in multiple states throughout my life. Being a military child I have learned how to communicate to individuals and also how to adapt to different situations in multiple states we have traveled and been stationed at. I started my education and graduated Overhills Elementary School while stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Upon completion of elementary school I attended Overhills Middle School for my 6th grade year in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. My 7th grade year we moved and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana where I attended Pickering High School. My 8th grade year we moved again and was stationed in Savannah Georgia where I attended Southwest Middle School. During my 8th grade year I started playing organized basketball. I have always enjoyed playing competitive sports, but this was my first time trying out for an organized team. My 9th and 10th grade year I attended Johnson High School which was known as a basketball and football powerhouse. I tried out for this basketball team as a freshman and I was the only freshman to make the varsity team. Throughout my first year of playing it was not an easy process. I learned what it meant to be a team player, regardless of me not getting any playing time, I still learned a lot from my coach and teammates. Throughout my first year I put in additional work in the weight room, track running and additional work on the basketball court. My 10th grade year I shared playing time at shooting guard with a senior at the time. That season our team went to the semifinals but unfortunately we lost. I was awarded a trophy for most improved player during that year along with other awards. Although I had a blast playing basketball, growing up me and my Dad would always throw the baseball around on the beach and randomly go to batting cages to hit. My 11th grade year I decided to transition to softball where I started playing for my first travel team "Pryme Jaguars' '. I spent extra time with my coaches and asked questions to learn and understand the game of softball as fast as possible. My second travel ball team I currently still play on is Crossfire out of Smith Station, Alabama. My goals are to receive a softball scholarship and a degree in Business. I think that I would be a great fit at any school I attend. I am a hard worker and very proactive in anything that I do. I am competitive and love to win all the while pushing those around me to be better and hold them and myself accountable. I am a self-starter and will push to be better everyday while attending college and also life in general. This is a team sport and I truly understand there is no space or time for selfish individuals seeking glory for themselves. Thank you for taking the time to read my bio.
