I am a give me the ball kind of pitcher. I work well under pressure. I am smart and mentally, I'm tough. You won't see me show any emotion on the mound, unless it's excitement. My mom says I get that from my dad. He is also a lefty and was a starting pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. I will never forget when my daddy took us to an Alumni Game at Turner Field for the first time as he played in the alumni all-star game. Due to health issues and the inability to run, I got to run the bases for him! I won't ever forget the chills I felt while running the bases in front of the fans. The cheers and clapping made it even more surreal. I was so proud of what my dad accomplished and I wanted to be just like him. I was only 11 or 12 at the time but well into pitching at the travel ball level. This was the moment I knew I wanted to pitch at the college level.
I have a great attitude, I'm a team player, and I want everyone to succeed. I give credit where credit is due and if I make a mistake, I own it. I believe there is never a bad day on the mound. We win or we lose, but whatever the outcome, I learn from it and move on. In fact, if I have an off game, it makes me want the ball even more and it motivates me to do better the next game. I don't talk about myself to others, I don't express my feelings too much, but when I do, I mean it. I have an unmatched and determined work ethic and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to be my best for God, my team and my coach.
Achieving my greatest potential in all areas of my life are at the top of my list. I am just as determined in the classroom as I am on the field. I am first and foremost a student then an athlete. Currently, my GPA is a 4.0. I would like to build my future in the medical field. I haven't fully decided yet but I'm leaning towards becoming an anesthesiologist or a pharmacist.
I treat others with respect, I have a strong sense of self, and I know what I need to do to function at my best. I am filled with passion and desire to play collegiate softball. My goals are to find a school that offers the academic path I want to take, that offers a softball program that challenges me to be my best, and one with a top notch program.
Playing is very important to me but winning means more. I am up for the challenge of going to a highly selective school and earning my way to a starting position because I know I have the determination, humility and discipline to get there.
