Hi Coach,
It's the bottom of the last inning, and the winning run is at 3rd base. I'm up to bat, and there's a tingly excitment at the pit of my stomach. This is the same feeling I have about transitioning from high school to college. I AM READY for the opportunity to face whatever pitch is coming my way.
As a High School Student Athlete, softball has taught me a lot about myself, my capabilities, and my work ethic for both in the classroom and on the field. As a student I strive to make the best grades I possibly can, even if that means sarificing social time. As an athlete I work hard to turn my weaknesses into strengths, and continue to create and reach my short term goals. I am excited at the skills and experiences I will attain at the collegiate level that I can translate into my adult life.
I have been taught that sports teaches us how life works. Work hard to achieve success on and off the field, and overcome failures with a positive mindset and a bad memory. I feel I have what it takes to be an influential leader on the field and a dedicated college student in the classroom to any institution that is an overall fit to my academic and athletic goals.
Come on, Coaches. Give me your best pitch! I am ready for this at bat; you have found a winner in me.
Sincerly,
Dee :)
