My name is Makayla McEwen and class of 2023. I have been playing softball since I was 5, starting travel softball when I was 9 playing on a 10u team. Throughout my softball career, I have been used as a utility player that can perform at high levels at most positions. The past couple years, my primary focus has been trying to perfect my skills as a high level first baseman and catcher. While learning new skills and working hard to gain more knowledge of the game, I strive to learn and help my team as well. As a catcher knowing where your team should be on the field is essential, but I also love knowing why. I have been described by my coaches as a team player. I have learned to communicate well on my team, to help us achieve our goals. These communication skills have molded me into a valuable player and asset to whatever team I'm playing for.
