The first time I encountered softball was in 8th grade, during coeducational intramurals. It wasn't "real" softball as there were no bases assigned to a specific person, but i enjoyed it nonetheless. I think this was the start of my major interest in softball. When i came into highschool, I knew I wanted to play and was determined to keep up my grades while playing. My freshmen year, i played the position of centerfield and then switched over to shortstop and i was on the junior varsity team, while being a starter. This year, my sophomore year, I am on varsity and play the position of shortstop, and am a starter. I am different than others because I have known how difficult it is to have to mature at a younger age, taking care of my brother, who has Autism. I am more open-minded to people's hardships and therefore put my energy into positive events. I am willing to work hard for the things I love, in this situation, softball.
