I started playing when I was 10 years old for our town little league and quickly realized that it would be the sport I would always play. I learned that being the smallest girl on the team I would be over looked. I was always put in the outfield because of my speed and soon came to love it. My parents always told me that if I want it have to go get it. I have to play hard and show them what I could do. I have to make it impossible for the coaches to take me out of the game. I decided 4 years ago I would do just that. I gave it everything I had and proved to everyone what my parents already knew. That I was capable of doing anything I set my mind to.
I decided that I would work hard not only at softball but also my academics. I know how important an education is and started working hard in the classroom as well. My freshman year I was inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society and my sophomore year I was inducted into the National Honor Society. I have a very busy schedule between class work and softball but I continue to push myself. My love for animals is why I want to get a degree in Zoology. I know I have a lot of hard work ahead of me, but I will accept the challenge and succeed.
I know all that I have accomplished and the hurdles I have jumped over. I am confident that I am a leader and an asset to my travel team and my high school team as well as a student that accepts nothing but the best from myself. I set an example that hard work does pay off. Softball is my passion and I want to play as long as I can. Playing college level softball has been a dream of mine since I was 10 years old and I will stop at nothing to make that dream come true.
